According to Bloomberg's report, a recent bug in OpenAI's ChatGPT led to the exposure of some users' past conversation titles to others. This caused an outage on Monday, which affected many AI enthusiasts and highlighted their reliance on the chatbot.
The bug only allowed a few users to view other users' conversation titles, while the content of the conversations remained private.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has confirmed that the bug originated in an open-source library and reassured users that only a small percentage of them were affected.
It's important to exercise caution when using AI tools that are still in development or beta testing phases, such as ChatGPT. To keep your information secure, avoid sharing sensitive details during AI-based conversations.

Good to know what happened. I noticed my history had disappeared, which was irritating because I wanted to recycle a couple of queries. Does the bug fix mean that our history will return, or are they lost?

My history had also disappeared when the bug happened but it had returned yesterday afternoon. I use the desktop app on the mac.
